Farm Bill Progresses, Soy Board Stalls
OMAHA (DTN) -- Here are the Top 5 things the DTN Newsroom is tracking for the week of May 3. Watch for coverage of these and other topics throughout the week on our subscription platforms as well as on www.dtnpf.com.
Note that all report release times are Central Daylight Time unless otherwise noted.
1. Market drivers: Traders will keep an eye on Iran developments along with U.S. and South American weather and any new old-crop soybean demand.
2. Farm bill advances: We'll monitor the farm bill advancement following last week's passage in the House. For our latest piece on the bill, see here: https://www.dtnpf.com/….
3. USB refusals: We're watching the unexplained decision by the Trump administration refusing to approve the nominations of five people, including four females, nominated to the United Soybean Board. For the latest, see here: https://www.dtnpf.com/….
4. Weather stays stormy: A conglomeration of troughs continue across the Central and East, a ridge is still pushing into western Canada, and another trough is moving underneath the ridge into the Southwest. That trough will continue across the far south during the next few days. The main trough complex may shift a bit to the east this week, but will largely stay intact through next week, getting fed by some additional disturbances moving over or through the western ridge.
