DTN Ag Summit Webinar, Wheat Harvest Begins
OMAHA (DTN) -- Here are the Top 5 things the DTN Newsroom is tracking for the week of June 22. Watch for coverage of these and other topics through the week on our subscription platforms as well as on www.DTNPF.com.
Note that all report release and webinar times are Central Daylight Savings Time unless otherwise noted.
1. DTN Ag Summit: Tuesday marks the next webinar in the DTN Ag Summit Series events. This one is focused on the "Future of the Cowherd." Join host and DTN Farm Business Editor Katie Dehlinger for a well-rounded discussion of the U.S. cow herd numbers and growth expectations, plus a look at the physical herd condition and pasture, range and other feed considerations the herd will need going into the rest of 2025. Our guest presenter will be Oklahoma State University Livestock Marketing Specialist Darrell Peel, who will be joined by DTN staff presenters including Livestock Analyst ShayLe Stewart, Senior Livestock Editor Jennifer Carrico, and Ag Meteorologist John Baranick. The free event is from 10 a.m. to noon. To register, go here: https://www.dtn.com/….
2. Kansas wheat harvest: Combines are rolling in Kansas as the 2025 hard red winter wheat harvest there begins. We'll pass along daily updates courtesy of the Kansas Wheat Commission, Kansas Association of Wheat Growers, Kansas Grain and Feed Association and the Kansas Cooperative Council.
3. Strategy updates delayed: Weekly updates to DTN's Six Factor Strategies will be updated Monday, instead of the previous Friday, because of the delay of the CFTC's Commitment of Traders report following the Juneteenth market holiday on June 19. DTN customers know that the net noncommercial (trader) positions in grain markets are among the most watched of our Six Factors that guide our take on the market. Don't have access to our strategies? Go here for a trial subscription: https://www.dtn.com/….
4. Still wet around farm country: Following the weekend's heat dome across most of the Plains and Midwest, moisture will move north from the Gulf and continue through the week. Showers are likely from the Canadian Prairies down through the central Plains and upper Midwest. It appears another system will follow behind it through this coming weekend.
