OMAHA (DTN) -- Continued rain chances for much of Brazil, and a stormy pattern for the central U.S., are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.

MIDWEST RAIN AND SNOW

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for new round of stormy conditions to bring rain and snow to the Midwest over the next five days. Northern sections of the region will have snow and episodes of cold temperatures, causing transportation disruptions along with safety hazards and livestock stress. The eastern and southern Midwest, Mid-South, and Delta are in line for heavy rain with flooding and transportation disruption. Wet conditions also bring concern over delayed field work for the coming 2019 growing season.

COLD EPISODE IN SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Southern Plains, portions of the region may have some winterkill threat to wheat due to the incursion of very cold temperatures through the weekend. Overwintering wheat generally has adequate soil moisture; however, a drier trend in the southwestern sector over the past month bears watching.

CENTRAL BRAZIL RAIN

Central Brazil has a continued forecast for moderate to heavy rain through the next week. Rainfall will disrupt soybean harvest, but will also be favorable for soil moisture for the safrinha corn crop. Temperatures also are generally milder after stressful midseason heat.

FAVORABLE ARGENTINA TREND

Argentina has a additional round of favorable crop weather, with periods of light to moderate rain along with seasonal temperatures over the primary crop areas through the next week.
