Commodities Market Impact Weather
Limited Brazil Rain
OMAHA (DTN) -- A mixed rain outlook in Brazil, and rainfall targeting southern Argentina, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Wednesday.
RAIN AND SNOW IN MIDWEST
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for a strong Midwest storm system to bring a combination of moderate to heavy rain and moderate to heavy snow during this midweek time frame. Transportation disruption and livestock stress is likely. Rainfall will maintain adequate to surplus soil moisture levels. The next week brings in generally cold weather throughout the region, along with additional periods of snow squalls.
MIDWEEK SOUTHERN PLAINS SNOW

In the Southern Plains, snow, cold and strong winds are in store for the northern sector of the region through Wednesday. This winter storm pattern will be stressful to livestock and transportation. A mainly dry and chilly pattern is in store during late week.
MIXED BRAZIL RAIN OUTLOOK
Across Brazil, dryness remains a notable concern for filling soybeans in central and northeastern areas. Concern is also growing regarding soil moisture deficits for the upcoming safrinha corn crop. The next week keeps a drier pattern in place over the south-central and eastern areas, and increases stress on the crop.
SOUTHERN ARGENTINA RAIN
In Argentina, moderate to heavy rain is still indicated for central and southern crop areas through the next week. These high-production areas will need to be watched for possible flood impact from the heavy rain.
AUSTRALIA DROUGHT DAMAGE
In eastern Australia, harsh drought over the past four weeks has shriveled row crops, including sorghum. The next week offers only light precipitation, along with high temperatures, especially in southeastern crop areas.
