OMAHA (DTN) -- No significant rain in the majority of Brazil's crop areas, and variable precipitation in Argentina, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

MIDWEST SNOWSTORM AHEAD

The DTN ag weather forecast again features a new snowstorm for the Midwest by late week. Moderate to heavy snow will cause transportation delays. Meanwhile, northern areas will have much colder weather during the seven- to 10-day time frame.

BITTER COLD FOR NORTHERN PLAINS

Harsh Arctic cold is set to cover the Northern Plains during the last half of the week through the weekend. This cold wave will hinder transportation and will be stressful for livestock.

NON-THREATENING SOUTHERN PLAINS TREND

In the Southern Plains, the pattern remains favorable for overwintering wheat. There is no damaging cold weather in sight. A new round of rain and snow will be stressful for livestock.

MINIMAL BRAZIL RAIN

South-central through northeastern Brazil remains in a pattern featuring well-above normal temperatures and very little rainfall through the next seven days. Soybean crop prospects are steadily declining.

VARIABLE ARGENTINA PRECIPITATION

In Argentina, central and southern crop areas have periodic rounds of rain with generally mild temperatures; conditions remain mostly favorable. Continued moderate to heavy rain is forecast for the northern crop areas.
