OMAHA (DTN) -- Low temperatures and variable precipitation in the Midwest, and continued favorable conditions across Brazil, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

EASTERN MIDWEST HARVEST DELAY

The DTN ag weather forecast again calls for a cold and dry trend to favor the remaining harvest in the western Midwest, along with crops in outdoor storage. Cold and unsettled conditions will disrupt and delay the remaining harvest in the eastern Midwest.

BENEFICIAL NORTHERN PLAINS HARVEST TREND

The Northern Plains harvest has a beneficial late-harvest trend due to cold, dry conditions, which cause wet areas to freeze and allow harvest progress.

COLD SLOWS SOUTHERN PLAINS WHEAT

In the Southern Plains, cold conditions will slow winter wheat development. Soil moisture supplies are favorable in the wake of a heavier precipitation trend since midsummer.

FAVORABLE BRAZIL CONDITIONS

Brazil crop areas again have favorable weather for developing soybeans in central areas. All but northeast areas have moderate to heavy rain in the seven-day forecast.

WET IN ARGENTINA

In central Argentina, heavy rains in central areas will disrupt and delay corn and soybean planting and may force some replanting. Soil moisture supplies for developing crops are adequate to surplus. The pattern turns drier over the next week, offering some improvement in conditions.

LIGHT UKRAINE SHOWERS

In the Black Sea region, Ukraine has light showers indicated over the balance of this week. Soil moisture is generally favorable for winter grains in Russia and Ukraine.

DRIER SOUTH AFRICA TREND

In South Africa, mostly favorable soil moisture is in place for planting and developing maize over eastern areas. However, soil moisture will diminish during the next week due to a hotter pattern. Meanwhile, western growing areas remain hotter and drier than the eastern growing areas at this time.
