OMAHA (DTN) -- Additional Midwest rain, and ongoing beneficial rainfall in South America crop areas, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.

PERSISTENT MIDWEST SHOWERS

The DTN ag weather forecast calls again for Midwest rain. Another round of rain through the southern and eastern Midwest early next week will continue to delay harvest. There is some chance for improving conditions during the six- to 10-day period. The western Midwest will see light to moderate rainfall during the weekend before turning drier next week.

SCATTERED SOUTHERN PLAINS RAIN

In the Southern Plains, rainfall over the next five days in eastern areas will bring some delay to wheat planting and row crop harvest. Drier conditions will be in effect elsewhere.

NORTHERN PLAINS SNOW

In the Northern Plains, a round of snow and rain through the weekend will disrupt harvest. Snow is most likely over western portions of the region.

CONTINUED BRAZIL RAIN

Brazil crop areas remain in favorable condition for planting and development of the 2018-19 soybean crop. Moderate to heavy rain over the next week will continue to offer favorable soil moisture.

DRY WEEKEND IN ARGENTINA

In central Argentina, a drier pattern following recent rainfall will allow row crop planting progress. Wheat areas may see some frost conditions early next week.

EUROPE WEEKEND SHOWER CHANCE

In Europe, cooler and wetter conditions remain in the forecast through the weekend. This moisture chance will be closely watched following a dry summer.

EASTERN AUSTRALIA RAIN

Moderate to heavy rain is indicated for eastern Australia crop areas through the next week. Moisture will benefit summer crops, but the arrival of rain is too late to appreciably improve winter wheat prospects.

MIXED SOUTH AFRICA FORECAST

In South Africa, eastern crop areas have showers in the forecast through the next five days, while western areas are dry. Western areas have the greatest need for moisture at this time.
