OMAHA (DTN) -- Mixed rain forecasts over the Midwest, and ongoing beneficial rainfall in Brazil crop areas, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Wednesday.

VARIABLE MIDWEST RAIN

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for moderate to heavy rain during the next week over the north-central through eastern and southern Midwest. The rain will disrupt corn harvest and fall fieldwork. The remainder of the region will have lighter precipitation, with more favorable conditions for progress.

FAVORABLE SOUTHERN PLAINS TREND

In the Southern Plains, soil moisture supplies are ample for winter wheat development. Showers at midweek are occurring in southern sectors of the region, where recent rainfall was lighter.

MIXED NORTHERN PLAINS PRECIPITATION

In the Northern Plains, a mix of rain and snow will produce minor harvest disruption. Heaviest precipitation is forecast for Saturday.

BENEFICIAL BRAZIL CONDITIONS

Brazil crop areas will see more rainfall through the end of the week. Favorable soil moisture is leading to a fast pace for soybean planting. Nationwide progress is at 46%, compared with 28% average.

ARGENTINA RAIN

In central Argentina, rain during the past two days is favorable for crop moisture.

EUROPE SHOWERS

In Europe, additional rain chances are in store this week, offering improvement in moisture for winter grains and oilseeds.
