Midwest Crops See Beneficial Weather Pattern

OMAHA (DTN) -- Very favorable weather conditions that will benefit the Corn Belt, and a continued dry trend for Europe, are key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Thursday.

MIDWEST FAVORABLE PATTERN TO CONTINUE

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for favorable conditions for late-pollinating and -filling corn and developing and filling soybeans with moderate temperatures and adequate moisture conditions to continue. In the six-to-10-day outlook, temperatures will be variable and rainfall near to below normal west, and near to above normal east.

TREENDING DRIER FOR CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Central and Southern Plains, recent moderate-to-heavy showers and thunderstorms and more moderate temperatures ease stress to corn and soybeans. Soils will be trending drier during the next seven to 10 days with near to above normal temperatures and mostly below normal rainfall.

DRY TREND FOR WEST TEXAS

No significant rainfall is expected in the major growing areas of west Texas during the next seven days. Episodes of hot weather will further stress the crop.

FAVORABLE NORTHERN PLAINS CONDITIONS

The Northern Plains expects to see favorable conditions for developing corn and soybeans with adequate soil moisture and moderate temperatures. There will be favorable weather for maturing and harvesting spring wheat.

LIMITED RAIN FOR CANADIAN PRAIRIES

Limited rainfall and episodes of hot weather in the Canadian Prairies stresses filling wheat and canola in some southern areas.

LITTLE RAIN IN EUROPE

In Europe, little rainfall along with episodes of hot weather, are affecting the wheat and corn crops.

RAIN EXPECTED FOR NORTH CHINA

In northeastern China, more rain would benefit the main corn areas in the south. Some is expected during the next five days. There are more favorable conditions in the main soybean areas in the north.

BENEFICIAL SHOWERS IN CENTRAL CHINA

In central China, some beneficial showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the next five days.

DRIER OUTLOOK FOR WEST-CENTRAL INDIA

Monsoon rains are now mostly in north-central and northeast areas of India. The main oilseed areas of west-central India have adequate soil moisture at this time, but will be on the drier side during the next seven to 10 days and deplete soil moisture.
