DTN Weekly DDG Price Slightly Higher on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN average price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 35 locations reporting for the week ended Jan. 19 was $276 per ton, up $2 on average from one week ago. Prices were mixed again this week as plant production increased for the second week in a row. Demand for DDG has picked up thanks to high-priced soybean meal.
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) at midweek showed a second weekly increase in domestic ethanol production, up 65,000 barrels per day (bpd) or 6.9% to a four-week high of 1.008 million bpd, 4.3% below a year ago. Output in the Midwest increased 63,000 bpd to a four-week high of 958,000 bpd, down 3.6% versus the same week in 2022.
