DTN's Quick Takes
Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets
OMAHA (DTN) -- December corn is up 1 1/4 cents and November soybeans are down 1 1/2 cents. December KC wheat is up 1 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 1 1/4 cents, and December MIAX Minneapolis wheat is up 1 1/4 cents. December crude oil is down $2.06 and Dow Jones futures are up 137 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.07 and December gold is up $18.80. Row crop futures are mixed and quiet on the open to the new week as well as the new month. Corn, soy, and wheat markets will attempt to turn a page in November after very ugly price action through the month of October, with each market managing only a handful of positive sessions over the past several weeks. Although there is a chance for some disruptive weather this week, U.S. corn and soybean harvests should be entering their final stage, which may help lift some pressure off of prices. In macro news, markets (especially energies) will be watching this week's U.S. elections on Tuesday, as well as whether there is any significant escalation in the U.S.-Iran war following the elections.
