Agriculture Confidence Index

As 2017 came to a close, farmers showed twice the optimism about current conditions as they did in late 2016. The latest Agriculture Confidence Index results also show a convergence of farmer attitudes, as optimism for the future falls with continued flat grain prices and the beginnings of a downturn in livestock markets. Meanwhile, agribusinesses surveyed by DTN/The Progressive Farmer for the Agribusiness Confidence Index showed a more tempered response.

Farmers answering the latest DTN/The Progressive Farmer's Agriculture Confidence Index survey told of increasing optimism, posting an overall score of 113, up 9 points from August. (DTN graphic)
