AGCO REPORTS THIRD-QUARTER NET SALES DECLINE

AGCO has reported net sales of $2.5 billion for its third quarter ending Sept. 30. That is a decrease of 4.7% compared to the third quarter of 2024. However, the third quarter of 2024 included "other" revenue of $251.2 million stemming from AGCO's divestiture of the majority of its Grain & Protein business.

"AGCO delivered another solid quarter of navigating a complex global landscape shaped by challenging farm economics, high interest rates, and cautious capital investment," Eric Hansotia, AGCO's chairman, president and CEO, said in an AGCO news release. "Our continued investments in precision agriculture, autonomous solutions and sustainable technologies helped maintain demand for our premium brands."

AGCO's net sales for the first nine months of 2025 were about $7.2 billion, a decrease of 18.4% compared to the same period in 2024, which included "other" revenue of $741.8 million from the divestiture of AGCO's Grain & Protein business.

AGCO expects full-year 2025 net sales of approximately $9.8 billion. AGCO reported net sales of $11.662 billion in full-year 2024.

Looking at the North American farm machinery industry as a whole -- AGCO and competing manufacturers -- retail tractor sales declined 10% in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The steepest decline occurred in higher-horsepower categories, especially in more recent months. North American combine unit sales fell 29% year over year during the same period.

AGCO's quarterly report provided a look at its net sales by region.

-- North America: Net sales decreased 32.1% during the third quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2024. Softer industry sales and a level of production intentionally below end-market demand contributed to lower sales. The most significant sales declines occurred in high-horsepower tractors, sprayers and combines.

-- South America: South American net sales decreased 9.5% during the third quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2024. Weaker industry demand drove most of the decrease with lower sales across most of AGCO's product categories.

-- Europe/Middle East: Net sales in the Europe/Middle East region increased 20.3% during the third quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2024. Increases were largest in high-horsepower and mid-range tractors.

DEERE'S SEE & SPRAY TECH CROSSES 5 MILLION ACRES IN 2025

John Deere reported this week that its See & Spray technology was used across more than 5 million acres of farmland during the 2025 growing season. In 2025, John Deere customers reduced non-residual herbicide use by an average of nearly 50%, saving nearly 31 million gallons of herbicide mix, Deere said.

Launched in 2021, See & Spray uses boom-mounted cameras and onboard processors to scan over 2,500 square feet per second at up to 15 miles per hour, identifying weeds and triggering individual spray nozzles by way of Deere's ExactApply.

See & Spray is available as a factory installation or with a Precision Upgrade kit for MY18 and newer R-series and 400/600 series sprayers and select new John Deere and Hagie sprayers.
