Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets
OMAHA (DTN) -- December corn is up 3 1/4 cents and November soybeans are up 10 cents. December KC wheat is up 4 3/4 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 5 1/4 cents, and December MIAX Minneapolis wheat is up 1 1/4 cents. November crude oil is down $0.27 and Dow Jones futures are up 108 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.07 and December gold is down $17.70. Row crop futures are higher on the open Sunday evening, recovering from risk-off selling on Friday. More attacks were seen against energy infrastructure in the Black Sea over the weekend, which is likely to support energy futures to start the week. This week's trade will center around China's President Xi's visit to Washington, D.C., on Thursday, with soybeans expressing optimism thus far Sunday evening with a strong open. Market participants should expect a heightened degree of volatility surrounding the summit, similar to what was seen back in May during President Trump's visit to Beijing.
