Fieldwork Delays for Midwest, Delta
OMAHA (DTN) -- Wet weather delaying fieldwork in the Midwest and Delta, and no significant rains this week for Argentina, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.
COOL AND RAINY MIDWEST
The DTN ag weather forecast for the Midwest calls for episodes of cool and wet weather, which will delay spring fieldwork and any early corn planting in the south.
CONTINUED ARGENTINA DRYNESS

In central Argentina, losses to late-filling soybeans continue due to drought. No significant rainfall is expected during this week.
MORE RAIN IN BRAZIL
Across Brazil, there is no end indicated to the rainy season. Soil moisture is favorable for second-crop (safrinha) corn. However, late-stage harvest and transportation issues are noted because of wet conditions. Farther south, heavy weekend rains in Rio Grande do Sul will disrupt the soybean harvest. Southern Brazil may see more wet weather forecast later this week.
DELTA STAYS WET
The Delta forecast remains wet with heavy rain and flood threats this week. Saturated soils along with the wet pattern will delay corn planting.
MAINLY DRY IN SOUTHERN PLAINS
There is again no significant precipitation expected in the Southern Plains during the next 10 days in key growing areas. Some wheat fields in north-central Texas and southwest Oklahoma will benefit from light to locally moderate rains today. Crop ratings are already poor in many areas.
