Raven Industries Inc. announced that Haggerty AgRobotics has purchased a second OMNiPOWER platform built by the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, technology company.

"Labor shortage concerns within our local growers have really elevated the need for more automation and robotics on the farm," said Chuck Baresich, a farmer and president of Haggerty AgRobotics. Haggerty AgRobotics is a venture launched by Haggerty Creek Ltd of Ontario, Canada, in response to market demand for driverless ag technology. It is focused on autonomy, robotics and technology automation at the farm level.

"It is exciting to see a progressive, ag-tech-focused operation like Haggerty AgRobotics partner with us to showcase autonomy and precision applications in the agriculture market," said Ben Voss, Raven applied technology director of sales for North America and Australia.

OMNiPOWER is a self-propelled power platform that gives owners the ability to incorporate with the unit various farm implements like sprayers and spreaders. OMNiPOWER allows farmers to remotely operate and send the unit on autonomous missions from a tablet. No driver is necessary.

"We purchased our second OMNiPOWER platform to continue to be on the leading edge of commercializing autonomous machines as an organized fleet," said Baresich.

Raven also markets a branded product called OMNiDRIVE. OMNiDRIVE allows farmers to monitor and operate a driverless tractor and grain cart from the cab of a harvester. The autonomous system gives the combine operator the ability to offload grain on the go and then return the autonomous tractor to a predetermined unloading area.

Raven provides precision agriculture products, such as field computers, sprayer and planter controls, guidance steering systems, logistics systems and autonomous solutions.
