OMAHA (DTN) -- Retail fertilizer prices were split with four higher and four lower than a month ago, according to sellers tracked by DTN for the last week of July 2025.

No fertilizer was higher or lower by a substantial amount for the eighth week in a row. DTN designates a significant move as anything 5% or more.

Three fertilizers were slightly lower compared to the prior month: Urea had an average price of $645/ton, anhydrous $762/ton and UAN32 $497/ton.

One fertilizer was unchanged in price compared to a month earlier: 10-34-0 had an average price of $672/ton.

On a price per pound of nitrogen basis, the average urea price was $0.70/lb.N, anhydrous $0.46/lb.N, UAN28 $0.75/lb.N and UAN32 $0.78/lb.N.

The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) announced Monday the selection of three sets of agricultural retailers and their farmer partners as the 2025 4R Advocates. These growers and retailers are recognized for their outstanding commitment to implementing nutrient management practices grounded in the 4R principles: Applying fertilizer from the right source, at the right rate, right time and right place.

The 2025 4R Advocates are:

-- Retailers Felipe Aguilar and Fernando Ceja, Wilbur-Ellis company, Helm, California; grower Sal Parra, Jr., Burford Ranch; Coyula Farms, Helm

-- Retailer Anthony Furlin, MFA, Inc., Trenton, Missouri; growers Mark and Kristi Urich, Urich Farms, Laredo, Missouri

-- Retailer Taylor Ivy, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Stuart, Florida; grower Elizabeth Malek, Lipman Family Farms, Naples, Florida.

"Our 2025 4R Advocates are leading the charge in three unique regions when it comes to sustainability and stewardship in agriculture," TFI President and CEO Corey Rosenbusch said in news release. "Their dedication to the 4Rs supports healthy soils, strong yields, and a more resilient food system. We're honored to recognize these grower-retailer teams for advancing science-based practices that benefit both the environment and the bottom line."

Seven fertilizers are now higher in price compared to one year earlier: 10-34-0 by 5%, MAP 8%, DAP 10%, anhydrous 13%, UAN28 by 24%, urea 28% and UAN32 by 32%.

The remaining fertilizer, potash, continues to be lower -- by 4% compared to last year.

DTN gathers fertilizer price bids from agriculture retailers each week to compile the DTN Fertilizer Index. DTN first began reporting data in November 2008.

Indiana-based Superior Ag broke ground recently on a $20 million fertilizer terminal on the Ohio River, according to the Waterways Journal. You can read about it here: https://www.dtnpf.com/….
