Soybean Harvest About Halfway Done; Corn 41% Harvested

OMAHA (DTN) -- U.S. corn was 41% harvested compared to the five-year average of 31%, and soybeans were 49% harvested, ahead of the five-year average of 40%, as of Sunday, Oct. 10, USDA NASS said in its weekly Crop Progress report on Tuesday. The report is normally released on Mondays but was delayed this week due to the holiday.

U.S. corn condition was rated 59% good to excellent, unchanged from the previous week. Soybean condition was also rated 59% good to excellent, up 1 percentage point from the previous week.

Corn mature was 94%. Soybeans dropping leaves was 91%.

Winter wheat planting was 60%, equal to the five-year average. Thirty-one percent of the crop was emerged compared to the average of 35%.
