Commodities Market Impact Weather
Widespread Precipitation Prospect
OMAHA (DTN) -- Continued forecasts for widespread precipitation in both the United States and South America are the primary weather features for the commodity market's attention Thursday.
STORMY MIDWEST FORECAST
The DTN ag weather forecast continues to indicate a stormy pattern across the Midwest during the next seven days. Light rain is in store for the eastern Midwest Thursday. Several additional disturbances are in store for the region from Friday through next Tuesday. Each one could bring moderate to heavy precipitation. The rain will benefit soil moisture; however, flooding is also in store in the southern Midwest.
SOUTHERN PLAINS RAIN AND SNOW
In the Southern Plains, showers are indicated during the next couple of days. A system this weekend will bring moderate to heavy rain and snow across the region, including for the areas in drought in the west. Blizzard conditions may be the result over the west. The track of this feature will be important for precipitation prospects. Cold air will fill in behind the system for next week, but temperatures do not appear to be low enough to cause damage at this time.

HEAVY NORTHERN PLAINS SNOW FORECAST
Portions of the Northern Plains continue with heavy snow in the seven-day forecast. Chances are greatest during the five- to seven-day period. Snow could total several feet in some locales, which could be stressful to livestock. Soil moisture will have some recharge, however.
VARIABLE DELTA PATTERN
The Delta has a mostly dry pattern in store through Thursday. Rain chances increase during the end of the week into the coming weekend. Moderate to heavy amounts are indicated.
STILL WET IN CENTRAL BRAZIL
Across Brazil, central crop areas have ongoing moderate to heavy rain through the end of the week, which brings additional disruption to soybean harvest and second-crop corn planting. In the south, lighter rain is indicated through the end of the week.
CONTINUED ARGENTINA RAIN PROSPECT
Satellite imagery indicates showers forming in portions of central Argentina Thursday. Central Argentina has increased prospects for beneficial light to moderate rain during the next seven days. This chance will be closely watched for impact on filling corn and soybeans.
