OMAHA (DTN) -- Warm and dry conditions in the Argentina forecast and slow soybean harvest progress in central Brazil are the primary weather features for the commodity market's attention Monday.

WARMER WITH SNOW IN MIDWEST

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for rain and snow showers to cross the eastern Midwest Monday and Tuesday. Dry conditions are in store elsewhere. Temperatures will move to above-normal levels. The weekend brings a chance of light to moderate precipitation. Areas of the region which are in drought will be closely watched for precipitation benefit.

DRY WEEK FOR SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Southern Plains, much of the week will be fairly dry. Precipitation is indicated to cross the region during next weekend with moderate amounts in southern areas and mostly light amounts north. Drought continues across the north and west.

MILD NORTHERN PLAINS PATTERN

The Northern Plains have a warmer pattern in store through the next week. This milder trend will be favorable to livestock after the harsh cold wave of the past two weeks. Some colder air is possible in the six- to 10-day time frame but does not show the intensity of recent cold waves.

WET CENTRAL BRAZIL PATTERN

Across Brazil, showers continued from Mato Grosso to Minas Gerais and points northward this weekend, creating further delays for soybean harvesting and corn planting. This looks to continue mostly this week, though the showers may not be as widespread as the previous couple of weeks. In southern areas, rain is indicated during midweek followed by a drier trend.

ISOLATED ARGENTINA RAIN

In central Argentina, dryness continues to be a concern during the next week for immature corn and soybeans. In addition, temperatures will turn to an above-normal trend, adding heat stress to dryness issues for filling corn and soybeans.
