Commodities Market Impact Weather
Minimal South America Rain Benefit
OMAHA (DTN) -- Favorable rain chances in Brazil and mixed moisture prospects in Argentina are the primary features for the commodity market's attention Monday.
MINIMAL MIDWEST PRECIPITATION
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for only light precipitation in the Midwest during the coming week. A clipper system will move through Thursday and Friday. The system may produce moderate precipitation, but models do not agree on this. Temperatures well-above normal are likely to be more seasonal this weekend into next week.
DRY SOUTHERN PLAINS FORECAST

Drought conditions remain in effect over the western half of the Southern Plains. Portions of the region had snow during the past weekend; however, melted precipitation generally amounted to less than one-quarter inch. Very little precipitation is expected outside of the northeastern corner of the region during the next 10 days as the drought continues across much of the north and west.
LATE-WEEK NORTHERN PLAINS SNOW FORECAST
Northern Plains areas have a fast-moving storm system indicated to move across the region Wednesday into Thursday with light to moderate snow. Temperatures are forecast to remain mostly above normal through the next 10 days. Seasonal cold is indicated during the 10- to 14-day period.
FAVORABLE BRAZIL RAIN FORECAST
Most primary crop areas of Brazil have moderate to heavy rain in the forecast through the next week. This will be useful for crop moisture. Heaviest amounts are indicated over northern and central areas; however, some southern areas could also have locally heavy rain indicated.
POSSIBLE ARGENTINA RAINFALL
In Argentina, showers began to develop on Sunday and will extend through Monday as well. After a few more days of dryness, another system will move through late Thursday and Friday with additional widespread moderate showers. The pattern turns drier after this week.
