OMAHA (DTN) -- Shower chances for Argentina and variable rain prospects in the Brazil during the next week are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Wednesday.

EASTERN MIDWEST SNOW

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for moderate snow in the eastern Midwest Wednesday. More isolated showers are expected during the following week with some potential for a snowstorm during mid to late next week.

DRIER SOUTHERN PLAINS FORECAST

In the Southern Plains, recent snow has brought some beneficial moisture for wheat areas, notably in Oklahoma. However, the forecast offers a drier trend during the next 10 days; thus, actual improvement in wheat moisture will be limited.

MORE NORTHERN PLAINS MILDNESS

In the Northern Plains, above-normal temperatures during the rest of the week will be favorable for livestock. Very little precipitation is suggested through early next week. A storm system in the middle of next week could produce more moderate snowfall across the area.

MIXED BRAZIL RAIN PROSPECT

Across Brazil, isolated showers during the last few days across the central and southern growing regions have brought some soil moisture benefit. However, coverage was minimal. More moderate showers are expected through the weekend over the south, which will then migrate to central and northern growing areas over the weekend and continue into next week. Southern areas may go drier next week, needing precipitation during the next few days to sustain crop potential.

ARGENTINA RAIN WATCH

Argentina has isolated showers through Thursday favoring northern areas. More widespread showers are forecast Friday and Saturday. The showers will be important as the country goes drier next week. Areas that have been drier and receive less precipitation, mainly across the west, will show more signs of stress.
