Commodities Market Impact Weather

OMAHA (DTN) -- Continued promising chances for rainfall in most Brazil crop areas and variable rainfall ahead in international wheat regions are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

MIXED MIDWEST PRECIPITATION

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for a strong cold front in the western Midwest to continue working eastward across the region during the next three days. Rain and mixed precipitation will accompany the frontal passage. Harvest disruption will occur in the eastern Midwest, delaying the final-stage corn harvest. Harvest elsewhere in the region is nearly complete for the season.

VARIABLE SOUTHERN PLAINS PRECIPITATION

The week ahead features periods of showers in the southeastern Plains. This sector of the region has improved wheat conditions ahead of dormancy. Western sectors of the region will remain mainly dry or with only light precipitation.

DRY AND COLD IN NORTHERN PLAINS

Northern Plains areas will be cold and mainly dry through the rest of the week. This pattern will be favorable for transportation. Harvest is nearly complete across the region.

ETA RAIN FOR SOUTHEAST

Developing hurricane Eta will be a rainmaker for the Southeast during this week. Delta areas will be outside the primary rainfall area.

CONTINUED BRAZIL RAIN PROSPECT

Brazil crop areas have a continued promising rainfall forecast through the remainder of the week. Moderate to locally heavy amounts are forecast for northern and central areas with useful crop moisture. Rio Grande do Sul in the far south has lighter amounts in store.

VARIABLE ARGENTINA SHOWERS

Argentina crop areas have light to moderate rainfall in the forecast through the balance of the week. This prospect will be watched closely for soil moisture improvement.

MAINLY DRY RUSSIA FORECAST

Russia wheat areas continue with a mainly dry forecast through the coming week. Wheat areas in the Black Sea region is still likely to go into the dormant phase for winter wheat with soil moisture deficits.

LIGHT AUSTRALIA SHOWERS

Light showers are indicated for all Australia wheat areas through the next seven days. The rain will offer useful summer crop moisture while causing only slight disruption to wheat harvest.
