"Illinois corn is 95% harvested, Iowa is 94%, and Minnesota and Nebraska are at 93%," noted DTN Lead Analyst Todd Hultman.

Meanwhile, soybean harvest moved ahead 5 percentage points to reach 92% complete as of Sunday, 2 percentage points ahead of the five-year average of 90%.

"Nebraska and North Dakota are finished harvesting soybeans," Hultman said. "South Dakota and Minnesota are 99% harvested. Iowa is 98% done, and Illinois is at 96%."

Winter wheat planting also inched ahead last week, gaining another 4 percentage points to reach 93% as of Sunday. That is 2 percentage points ahead of the five-year average of 91%. An estimated 79% of winter wheat had emerged, 1 percentage point ahead of the five-year average of 78%.

"Nebraska, South Dakota, Ohio and Idaho are finished planting winter wheat," Hultman said. "Kansas is at 97%, and Washington is 98% planted."

The condition of the winter wheat crop was estimated at 45% good to excellent, up 2 percentage points from 43% the previous week but still below 54% at the same time a year ago.

"The largest rating increases from a week ago were in Oklahoma, Oregon, Missouri and Washington," Hultman said.
