OMAHA (DTN) -- Dry conditions for Midwest harvest and improved rain prospects for central Brazil planting are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

MILD AND DRY MIDWEST

The DTN Ag Weather forecast calls for a dry pattern across the Midwest with seasonal to above normal temperatures through the balance of the week. This combination will be favorable for crop ripening and harvest progress.

DRIER FOR SOUTHERN PLAINS PLANTING

Southern Plains crop areas will be mainly dry during the balance of the week. This will be favorable for winter wheat planting after recent rainfall. Temperatures will be near to above normal; warm soils will aid in seed germination.

WARMER AND DRIER IN NORTHERN PLAINS

In the Northern Plains, warmer and drier conditions through the remainder of the week will benefit crop ripening and soil drying over the next week. This change will be useful for drying out of soils and crops along with possible early harvest. The drier and warmer trend will benefit livestock as well.

LIGHT DELTA PRECIPITATION

The Delta has mainly warm temperatures with light precipitation indicated through the balance of the week. This pattern is favorable for crops and harvest. Hurricane Sally's track will stay away from the region.

HEAVY HURRICANE RAIN FOR SOUTHEAST

The Southeast has heavy rainfall in the 7-day forecast from Hurricane Sally. Rain will cause flooding and threatens to damage crops.

INCREASED CENTRAL BRAZIL RAIN CHANCE

Central Brazil crop areas have an increased chance for moderate rain over the next seven days, including coverage in Mato Grosso. Soybean planting conditions are set to improve with the higher rain chance.

COOL AND DRY IN ARGENTINA

Cool temperatures with very little rain are forecast for central Argentina over the next seven days. This is unfavorable for wheat and offers no improvement in soil moisture for row-crop planting later in the season.

SCATTERED PRAIRIES RAINFALL

The Canadian Prairies have mainly scattered light precipitation and variable temperatures through the balance of the week. This combination will favor wheat harvest.

FAVORABLE RUSSIA RAIN

Russia wheat areas have moderate rainfall in the forecast over the next seven days. Moisture is favorable for winter wheat planting. Ukraine will have lighter rainfall.

CONTINUED PROMISING EASTERN AUSTRALIA RAIN CHANCE

Eastern Australia wheat areas continue with a moderate to heavy rain forecast through the next seven days. Areas to benefit include South Australia, interior New South Wales and Queensland. Rainfall would be favorable for developing wheat.
