OMAHA (DTN) -- Additional rain across the central U.S. and a drier trend for crop areas of western Europe are key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

CONSISTENT MIDWEST RAIN PATTERN

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for periods of showers to continue in the Midwest during the balance of the week. Heavier totals are indicated in the Ohio Valley, with planting delays and potential flooding. A new round of moderate to heavy rain is indicated from later in this week through the middle of next week, mostly in the western Midwest.

RAIN TO SPREAD ACROSS SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Southern Plains, periods of rainfall are indicated for the entire region Wednesday through Sunday. Rain is expected even in drier sectors, offering moisture for developing to reproductive wheat. The wetter pattern continues in the eastern Plains during next week.

MORE NORTHERN PLAINS RAIN

Northern Plains crop areas have multiple rounds of rain indicated through Sunday. This will be beneficial to emerging crops but will lead to additional planting delays and prevented planting questions.

HIGHER ARGENTINA RAIN CHANCE

Argentina central crop areas have moderate rain in the forecast next week. The rain would be favorable for wheat.
