OMAHA (DTN) -- A forecast for warmer and drier conditions for central United States crops and showers in the south-central Brazil crop forecast are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Wednesday.

WARMER MIDWEST FORECAST

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for a notable warming trend in the Midwest during the 10-day time frame. Prior to that warmer pattern, conditions remain cool with moderate-to-heavy rain. Additional chills were noted in northern and eastern areas Wednesday morning. Below freezing conditions appear to have ended for the season.

WIDELY VARIABLE SOUTHERN PLAINS RAIN

In the Southern Plains, additional rain is forecast for the eastern sector through the end of this week. Western sectors remain dry with wheat crop moisture concern returning after early-week showers.

MORE SHOWERS AND COOL IN NORTHERN PLAINS

In the Northern Plains, below normal temperatures and periods of rain continue for most of the 10-day period. This pattern will delay fieldwork and planting. Some acreage loss due to prevented planting is likely.

SCATTERED DELTA SHOWERS

The Delta has scattered rainfall through the balance of the week. This combination is mostly favorable for crop development.

LIGHT BLACK SEA SHOWERS

Wheat areas in the Black Sea region of Russia and Ukraine saw beneficial rain during the past week. Periods of light showers continue to be featured in the forecast during the balance of this week.

NORTHERN EUROPE RAINFALL

Across Europe, rain and cool weather in northern areas will keep crop development slow during this week. Elsewhere, southeast areas are turning drier.

MIXED BRAZIL RAIN

The next week offers variable rainfall across most crop areas in Brazil. Moderate-to-locally heavy amounts are indicated in south-central crop areas. Elsewhere, generally light amounts are forecast. Crop moisture benefit will be limited. Second crop corn areas need additional moisture and this rain pattern will be closely monitored.

ONGOING ARGENTINA DRYNESS

Argentina crop areas continue with a dry forecast through the next seven days. The drier trend benefits corn and soybean harvest; however, recent dryness has been unfavorable for river transport of commodities.

BENEFICIAL AUSTRALIA MOISTURE

Australia wheat areas have beneficial moisture for wheat seeding and early crop development after a more active rainfall pattern.
