Commodities Market Impact Weather
Drier Argentina Trend
OMAHA (DTN) -- Variable rainfall in Brazil, and a drier trend in Argentina, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.
STILL WARM IN MIDWEST
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for a dry trend in the Midwest during the coming week. Temperatures will remain above to much-above normal. This will cause some reduction in snow cover. Soils remain saturated, with much concern about the prospect of significant fieldwork delays this spring. A notable turn to colder conditions is suggested in the 10- to-14-day period.
SOUTHERN PLAINS SNOW
In the Southern Plains, moderate to heavy snow, ranging from 4 to 8 inches, occurred in western areas Monday night. This snow brings useful moisture for winter wheat. Temperatures are not low enough to cause stress to either wheat or livestock. In general, a more favorable weather pattern follows this snow. There is a suggestion of a cold wave developing during the extended time frame.

BENIGN NORTHERN PLAINS TREND
Across the Northern Plains, above normal temperatures and dry conditions highlight the forecast through this week. This will help reduce snow cover and provide favorable conditions for livestock.
MIXED BRAZIL RAINFALL
Across Brazil, most soybean areas have favorable conditions for filling soybeans. Early harvest is increasing in central Brazil. Some beneficial rain in northeast Brazil developed last week where dry conditions have been most prominent. A return to drier weather is expected mid to late week.
DRIER ARGENTINA TREND
Argentina crop areas have mostly favorable weather for pollinating and filling corn and developing and filling soybeans in the major central growing areas. Southern sectors are drier. A trend towards less-than-needed rainfall and warmer-than-normal conditions during the medium and longer-term forecast periods will need to be watched.
STAYING WARM IN BLACK SEA REGION
In the Black Sea region, temperatures continue to be above normal, with no cold wave expected through the coming week.
