Grains

OMAHA (DTN) -- On Sunday evening, March corn is up 4 1/2 cents, January soybeans are up 7 cents and March KC wheat is up 4 1/4 cents. Grains are starting higher with bullish hopes carrying over from Friday's trade news. A closer look shows many important unanswered questions about the exact terms the two sides agreed to and more specifics will be needed. Light to moderate snow is falling across the central and Eastern Corn Belt Sunday, a reminder of this year's harvest challenges. Argentina's new government raised export taxes over the weekend on crops and beef, as suspected. Dow Jones futures are up 20 points and the March U.S. dollar index down 0.04. February gold is down $2.80 and February crude oil is down $0.26 a barrel.
