Commodities Market Impact Weather
Oncoming Cold Wave
OMAHA (DTN) -- A strong cold wave for the central U.S., and widespread rain indicated across Brazil, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.
ARCTIC COLD FOR MIDWEST
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for a surge of cold Arctic-origin air to cover the Midwest during the next week. The cold will slow down harvest and transport activity. Precipitation will be minimal.
NORTHERN PLAINS COLD WAVE

In the Northern Plains, a strong cold wave during next week, beginning Sunday, will keep the pace of the late harvest slow. Limited precipitation will enable harvest progress.
COLDER AND DRIER IN SOUTHERN PLAINS
In the Southern Plains, rainfall brought some soil moisture benefit to southeastern sectors during the past week. The pattern turns drier and very cold during the next seven days.
WIDESPREAD BRAZIL RAIN FORECAST
Across Brazil, all but northeastern crop areas have moderate to heavy rain in the forecast through the next seven days. This moisture will be favorable for developing row crops.
ARGENTINA SHOWERS
In Argentina, light to moderate rain showers are forecast through the weekend. The western crop areas, specifically the state of Cordoba, need precipitation.
