New Case IH, New Holland Sprayer Tech
Case IH, New Holland Release New Sense-and-Act Sprayer Technologies at 2025 Commodity Classic
DENVER (DTN) -- CNH brands Case IH and New Holland on Monday announced new forays into sense-and-act technology. New Holland is introducing IntelliSense Sprayer Automation and Case IH is unveiling SenseApply.
"SenseApply is our very first step into the sense and act space in terms of crop application technologies," said Alex Caldwell, product marketing manager for application equipment, North America. SenseApply employs a single, cab-mounted multi-spectral camera.
Mounted to the roof of the Case IH Patriot sprayer and the Trident liquid/dry combination applicator, SenseApply offers green-on-brown spot spraying and a Base + Boost function that increases application rates through individual nozzles as the boom passes over areas of high weed pressure.
The SenseApply camera is a forward-looking, multi-spectral vision system that enables IntelliSense Sprayer Automation to continuously scan upcoming field conditions (50 feet out in front of the sprayer) across the full width of the boom from a high vantage point. The camera senses plant biomass and responds accordingly, depending on the application type the operator selected.
SenseApply has a live variable-rate feature for applications such as burndown nitrogen, harvest aid, plant growth regulators and fungicides. Trident can tap into the functions of SenseApply to apply nitrogen in dry or liquid form. SenseApply also has a selective spray feature with a green-on-brown spot spray and a Base + Boost mode that activates a boost rate from nozzles where weeds are detected.
"I think growers are going to be extremely surprised with the utility and the payback and the price point with which this comes to the market," Caldwell said. "Something we're wanting to hammer home is this technology is theirs (the growers') upon purchase. There are no annual subscriptions, no per-acre fees associated with this. The device is theirs. They can move SenseApply from machine to machine."

SenseApply integrates with Case IH FieldOps and Raven Slingshot, enabling operators to connect and manage application data through their preferred platform.
SenseApply will be available for 2026.
NEW HOLLAND INTELLISENSE SPRAYER AUTOMATION
New Holland's IntelliSense Sprayer Automation is a factory offering for model year 2026 Guardian series front boom sprayers, including the SP310F, SP370F and SP410F.
The New Holland system is designed for use in corn, soybeans and cotton, pulse crops and small grains like wheat and canola.
As with SenseApply, New Holland's IntelliSense Sprayer Automation carries no annual subscription requirements or per-acre fees.
"IntelliSense Sprayer Automation is the newest addition to the New Holland machine automation portfolio, joining our existing harvest automation and baler automation solutions," Curtis Hillen, cash crop segment lead, stated in a New Holland North America news release. "This system features innovative live variable-rate and selective spray modes, which will increase the productivity, efficiency and quality of application already synonymous with the Guardian front boom sprayer to a whole new level."
IntelliSense Sprayer Automation has a Select Spray function. It offers operators the choice of two application types to enhance herbicide applications: Spot Spraying and Base + Boost.
Spot Spraying utilizes green-on-brown functionality and operates by detecting weeds smaller in stature (less than 2 inches in height).
Base + Boost activates selective nozzles on the boom to increase application rates in response to thicker concentrations of weeds.
IntelliSense Sprayer Automation manages full-season application functions, including herbicide, fungicide, plant growth regulator, nitrogen and harvest aid.
Currently, IntelliSense Sprayer Automation can be used on a variety of crops, including corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, canola, cotton, small grains, edible beans and other legumes.
