Along with harvest, a sign that fall is fast approaching comes from the beginning of the farm show season. These shows, and the winter meetings that follow all too soon, are a critical part of the DTN news and analysis cycle for several reasons. The create de facto news to report -- new equipment unveilings, new products to consider, political announcements made specifically around a gathering of farmers and ag industry representatives. Just as importantly, these events are a chance for DTN staff to mingle and learn from the attendees, and you all have a chance to connect with us.

Next week, during the Husker Harvest Days events in Grand Island, Nebraska, there will be several opportunities to listen to and connect with DTN staff. The DTN building, located inside the main show area, will feature the latest products and news on upcoming releases. We'll also have our traditional weather and markets outlooks from DTN Ag Meteorologist John Baranick and DTN Lead Analyst Todd Hultman.

Baranick will give us the latest thoughts on the ongoing La Nina conditions and what that will mean for harvest and winter weather. Hultman will as always take those weather expectations and add in the many variables he and our analyst team see influencing grain and livestock prices in the coming months.

Their sessions are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. CDT Tuesday and Wednesday, and at 10:00 a.m. CDT on Thursday. There will be coffee and snacks to enjoy while you listen, and plenty of time to visit with these experts one-on-one to delve deeper into your questions and concerns.

The DTN sales and marketing staff will, of course, be on hand to answer questions about our services and help you become a DTN customer if you're not already.

Come, learn, and most importantly tell us what's on your mind. That's one of the key benefits, for us anyway, of these events: To hear from you directly.

I also want to make sure you're putting a spot in your calendars for our upcoming DTN Virtual Ag Summit, Dec. 12-13.

If you're familiar with our annual Summits, now in their 16th year, you know that we traditionally meet in Chicago in early December to discuss the challenges and the opportunities of the coming year. Following our 2020 Summit, which was virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions, we received at outpouring of appreciation from so many of you who wanted to be part of such a meeting yet who, for myriad reasons, could not make the trek to Chicago.

During our 2021 Summit, which was in the Windy City, so many of you added to that call for a virtual event that this year we decided to go all virtual once again. It will feature the same high level of thought-provoking speakers and discussions of critical farm business subjects as our physical meetings, which you can attend from the comfort of your farm office or home.
