Commodities Market Impact Weather

OMAHA (DTN) -- Thunderstorms with useful rain to cover the Midwest and periods of rain for most Australia wheat areas are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

BENEFICIAL MIDWEST CONDITIONS

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for beneficial conditions for Midwest corn and soybean crops moving through reproductive phases and into the filling portion of new crop production. Moderate to locally heavy rain is in store across the region over the next week. Temperatures have a seasonal to above-normal trend.

VARIABLE SOUTHERN PLAINS PATTERN

Southern Plains crop areas have a continued variable crop weather pattern. Western and southwestern sectors have mainly dry conditions with very warm conditions. Central and eastern areas have seasonal temperatures with periods of rain in store through the next week. Non-irrigated crops in the southwestern areas will continue to have stressful conditions.

MORE NORTHERN PLAINS STORMS

In the Northern Plains, showers and thunderstorms are in store through the next 10 days. Precipitation from the storms will generally benefit crops; however, severe storms will be a threat.

LIGHT DELTA AND SOUTHEAST RAIN

Delta and Southeast crop areas have mostly light rainfall in store through the end of the week. Soybeans and cotton in reproductive phases need more moisture as temperatures remain in the 90s Fahrenheit and possibly higher through the rest of the week.

VARIABLE PRAIRIES SHOWERS

Canadian Prairies crop areas have scattered showers continuing to move across the region during the rest of the week. Moisture from the shower occurrences will benefit heading to filling wheat.

SHOWERS FOR RUSSIA

In the Black Sea region, Russia and Ukraine crop areas have periods of moderate rain indicated through the next week. Rain will be of most benefit to row crops in Ukraine and spring wheat in the Volga Valley.

RAIN TO CROSS EUROPE

Rain is indicated across Europe crop areas through the next week. Light to moderate amounts are in store for western Europe, with moderate to heavy totals for eastern Europe. Moisture will be favorable for row crops in reproductive phases.

CONTINUED DRY BRAZIL HARVEST PATTERN

In central Brazil, a continued dry pattern for safrinha corn harvest is in the forecast through the next week.

BENEFICIAL ARGENTINA RAIN PROSPECT

In central Argentina, moderate to heavy ran is indicated in the next seven days for most wheat areas. This rain will be beneficial to developing wheat. Temperatures will be closely monitored for the possibility of frost.

EASTERN AUSTRALIA RAIN CHANCE

In Australia wheat areas, moderate to locally heavy rain is in store for portions of the eastern wheat areas, notably in New South Wales, over the next week. The rain will bring additional soil moisture for developing wheat.
