OMAHA (DTN) -- Continued drought concern in Argentina and scattered rain across Brazil crop areas are the primary features for the commodity market's attention Monday.

LIMITED MIDWEST MOISTURE

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for very little precipitation in the Midwest during the coming week. Temperatures offer a chilly trend but not excessively cold for the season. Highest moisture chances are in the southern and eastern sectors of the region.

MAINLY DRY IN SOUTHERN PLAINS

Southern Plains areas have a dry outlook ahead. Recent precipitation brought some moisture benefit to a portion of the region in southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma, but very little improvement in mainly dry soil conditions elsewhere.

LIGHT NORTHERN PLAINS SNOW

Light snow is set to cross the Northern Plains during the first half of the week. Moisture content of the snow will be low. The past three months' precipitation has been above normal in Montana. Elsewhere, precipitation totals are mostly less than half of normal.

SCATTERED BRAZIL RAIN

Brazil's rainfall forecast shows a scattered pattern during the next week. Southeastern crop areas have moderate to heavy rain. However, central and southern crop areas have mainly light rain in store. Soil moisture is variable but is generally no more than adequate. Rainfall benefit will be minimized by above-normal temperatures and moisture evaporation.

ARGENTINA DROUGHT CONCERN

Drought concern is significant in Argentina crop areas. Soil moisture is running short to very short except in the northeastern corner of the country. Fears of reduced production are becoming more generalized. The next seven days offer no more than light precipitation.
