Spot Ethanol Prices Up in California on Regional Stock Draw

Spot ethanol prices were mixed in early trade Wednesday with Chicago and New York Harbor prices little changed, while West Coast values rose after the Energy Information Administration reported a 100,000 bbl build in U.S. ethanol supply, to 23.0 million bbl in the second week of April, and a 100,000 bbl drawdown in West Coast stocks to 2.4 million bbl.

Supply along the East Coast rose 100,000 bbl, to 8.2 million bbl, while flat at 7.9 million bbl for the Midwest.

In cash trade, prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo terminal in the Chicago market traded at $1.615 gallon. April barged fuel ethanol in the New York Harbor was seen at $1.675 per gallon, down 0.5 cents. This week delivered ethanol in Southern California traded at $1.79 per gallon, up 1.5 cents.
