NYH, Argo Spot Ethanol Lower on Corn Futures, Demand Talk
Spot ethanol prices traded a tad lower in Chicago and were discussed lower in New York and Arizona during a lackluster session early Tuesday. A source cited lower Chicago Board of Trade corn futures and expectations U.S. data due out Wednesday for the week-ended July 22 would show a drop in blending inputs, which is a proxy for ethanol demand. Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo supply hub in the Chicago market traded at $1.47 gallon, down 0.25cts on the day. An August New York Harbor ethanol barge was talked at $1.52 to $1.54 gallon bid/ask, down 0.5cts. Arizona spot ethanol was pegged 9.0cts lower at $1.50 gallon.
