Spot Ethanol Prices Shallowly Mixed After Supply Data
U.S. spot ethanol prices were shallowly mixed in thin trade Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration detailed total ethanol stocks were little changed last week, rising 89,000 bbl to 19.648 million bbl during the week-ended July 24. The EIA also showed domestic production fell to the lowest level in nine weeks, down last week by 8,000 bpd to 965,000 bpd, while blender inputs, a gauge for ethanol demand, rose by 6,000 bpd to a three-week high of 903,000 bpd. Cash trades were steady at $1.475 gallon in Chicago, down 0.5cts at $1.56 gallon in the New York Harbor and up 1.25cts at $1.6525 gallon in northern California.
