Chicago Area Spot Ethanol Prices Decline After Corn Report

SUMMARY: Chicago spot ethanol eased in early trade despite higher corn futures after a USDA report lowered its domestic corn supply estimate.

Chicago spot ethanol prices were lower in early thin trade Monday despite a U.S. report lowering its domestic corn supply estimate while raising demand for corn by ethanol plants.

Prompt delivered ethanol at Argo near Chicago was talked at a $1.42 to $1.46 per gallon bid/ask, down 1.5 cents, while any-January Argo prices were seen at a $1.44 to $1.47 per gallon bid/ask.

Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for next week shipment to coastal markets was talked at a $1.43 to $1.46 per gallon bid/ask versus a trade last Friday at $1.45 per gallon.
