DESIGN AWARD GIVEN TO NEW HOLLAND

New Holland Agriculture has been awarded the 2020 Good Design Award for its BigBaler High Density machine. Good Design awards are given by a panel of international design professionals, leading industry specialists, design journalists and critics. The BigBailer has previously won an Agritechnica Silver Innovation Medal and a Machine of the Year 2020 award.

The BigBaler High Density was one of the product designs selected by the jury from a record number of submissions from industrial and graphic design firms from more than 48 countries.

The award recognizes innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic design. The selection is based on the criteria of quality design, function, and aesthetics.

"The design for the BigBaler High Density stems from nature, inspired by the flowing lines of crops as they sway in the fields," said David Wilkie, CNH industrial design director. "It

incorporates the natural flow vision denoted by its sinuous, sleek lines that encapsulate the functionality of the machine and enhance the efficiency of the machine's components."

The New Holland BigBaler High Density produces bales of up to 22% higher density than conventional large square balers, significantly increasing transport and bale handling efficiency.

Its patented Loop Master knotting technology ensures tying and protects both the environment and forage by eliminating twine offcuts. By introducing a loop-style second knot, during an average 10,000-bale season, this system eliminates more than 3.5 miles, or more than 100 pounds, of twine offcuts.

"We are honored to receive this prestigious award, which recognizes New Holland's ability to put innovation at the service of its customers, always pushing the boundaries of productivity and efficiency," said New Holland Brand President Carlo Lambro.

The BigBaler High Density is built at the New Holland Center of Harvesting Excellence in Zedelgem, Belgium.

DEERE UPDATES ITS OP CENTER FEATURES

To meet the changing demands of farming, John Deere has improved the look, feel and navigation features of its cloud-based Operations Center. The effort brings new levels of clarity and organization to farm data management, Deere said.

Deere also added a new Work Planner feature that farmers can use to streamline their work setup experience and help operators start working more quickly in the field.

Going forward, farmers can use the Operations Center to collect and securely store their field, crop, and machine data from their connected machines for easier analysis and decision making. To get the most from John Deere precision ag technologies, Deere says farmers need four things: a Generation 4 CommandCenter display, a StarFire receiver, a JDLink connection, and the Operations Center.

The improved Operations Center is active online. The iOS version for Apple mobile products is available in the Apple App Store. The Android version will be available from Google Play in the coming weeks. New users can create an Operations Center account at https://operationscenter.deere.com/… or contact their local John Deere dealer for more information.
