OMAHA (DTN -- Forecast weekend rain in Argentina and more favorable rainfall in central Brazil are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.

ARGENTINA RAIN FORECAST

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for a strong cold front to bring rainfall to central Argentina during the weekend. This will be important precipitation after drier and hotter conditions recently.

CONSISTENT CENTRAL BRAZIL RAIN

Central Brazil has a consistent round of showers through the next week. This regularly occurring precipitation continues to be beneficial for crop development.

SOUTHERN BRAZIL SHOWERS

Southern Brazil is dry Friday. Forecasts for the weekend feature light to moderate rainfall. This would be timely and beneficial for crops and will be watched closely.

LIGHT MIDWEST SNOW

A brief round of cold is indicated over the eastern Midwest during the next couple days. The region will then be dry and warm through the next week. A colder pattern with some light precipitation is indicated during the 14-day timeframe.

DRYNESS INCREASES IN SOUTHERN PLAINS

Southern Plains areas will be warm and dry through the next week. Winter wheat will be prevented from going into full dormancy. This will further stress the crop due to dry conditions depleting soil moisture. A colder trend in the ten-day forecast bears watching for possible further stress.
