Cool Weekend Conditions
OMAHA (DTN) -- Mild to cool conditions for the central U.S., and a mostly dry pattern continuing in the western Midwest, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.
COOL PATTERN FOR WEEKEND
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for generally below-normal temperatures for the entire central U.S. during the coming weekend into the next seven to 10 days. This mild pattern will be favorable for pollinating and filling corn and filling soybeans in the western Midwest with some beneficial rainfall and near-to-below-normal temperatures. However, some significant dry areas still exist in Iowa as crop ratings continue to fall. Mostly favorable conditions are indicated for filling corn and soybeans in the eastern Midwest.
FAVORABLE SOUTHERN PLAINS PATTERN
Southern Plains crop areas have generally favorable conditions for developing crops with some beneficial rainfall. Moderate to heavy totals are suggested in the forecast over the next week.

COOL BUT DRY IN NORTHERN PLAINS
In the Northern Plains, near-to-below-normal temperatures during the next seven days will diminish stress to late-pollinating and filling corn and filling soybeans. However, below-normal rainfall will maintain some stress with some crop losses expected.
HEAT STRESS HURTS PRAIRIES CROPS
The Canadian Prairies have had episodes of above to much-above-normal temperatures and below-normal rainfall cause notable stress to heading and filling spring wheat and developing canola. Significant crop losses are expected. The pattern for temperatures is milder over most areas during the next week.
MOSTLY BENEFICIAL BLACK SEA CONDITIONS
Across the Black Sea region, generally favorable rainfall has been noted for crops in Ukraine and Russia; however, more rain would be useful in southeastern and north-central Ukraine along with southwestern portions of the Russia southern district.
FAVORABLE NORTHEAST CHINA SHOWERS
Northeast China has seen some beneficial rain this week for reproductive to filling corn and soybeans.
