Chicago Spot Ethanol Prices Firm Near 6-1/2-Month Low
Prompt ethanol at the Kinder Morgan operated Argo terminal in Chicago traded at $1.3650 early Tuesday, up 1.0 cent, before again trading at a 6-1/2-month low at $1.35 early afternoon. Ethanol for this week's rail delivery under Rule 11 terms traded 2.0 cents higher at $1.36 gallon. In the New York Harbor, spot ethanol traded flat at $1.45 gallon.
Spot ethanol prices were lent upside support from an upside reversal by Chicago Board of Trade September corn futures, which reversed off Monday's $3.522 bushel three-week low to trade in the low $3.60s early afternoon.
