OMAHA (DTN) -- The nation's corn and soybean harvest wrapped up last week, and winter wheat conditions held steady, USDA NASS reported Monday in its final weekly Crop Progress report of 2021. The first weekly report for 2022 will be released on Monday, April 4, 2022.

Winter wheat planting wrapped up last week, and 92% of the crop had emerged as of Sunday, Nov. 29, NASS estimated. That's equal to last year and 1 percentage point ahead of the five-year average of 91%

Winter wheat condition was unchanged from the previous week at 44% good to excellent.

"Winter wheat's current good-to-excellent rating is the second-lowest since 2010, but that portion of the crop rated as poor to very poor was up 1 percentage point to 15%," said DTN Senior Analyst Dana Mantini. "While Kansas wheat is rated 62% good to excellent, Montana, Texas and Washington are the poorest at 7%, 20% and 22% good to excellent, respectively."

The following are some other highlights from this week's Crop Progress report:

Sorghum harvested was 97%, 1 percentage point ahead of average.

Cotton harvested was 85%, 6 percentage points ahead of average.
