OMAHA (DTN) -- Variable conditions across Brazil, and a seasonally favorable trend in Argentina, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Monday.

WET MIDWEST FORECAST

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for rain and some snow this week to delay any remaining harvest in the Midwest. Transport will also be hindered by wet and cold conditions.

BENEFICIAL SOUTHERN PLAINS PATTERN

In the Southern Plains, above- to much-above-normal temperatures allow for some continued winter wheat development. Rain and snow on Wednesday into Thursday will maintain favorable soil moisture conditions. Colder weather later this week will slow development.

MIXED BRAZIL CONDITIONS

Across Brazil, weekend showers with a few more showers early this week will help ease stress to developing crops, especially in the very dry areas of Mato Grosso du Sul, Parana and Sao Paulo. However, more rain will be needed to stabilize crop prospects in these areas. Increasing showers in Mato Grosso and Goias during this week will be mostly favorable, after recent hot weather; however, rainfall may also disrupt harvest.

FAVORABLE ARGENTINA TREND

In Argentina, recent high temperatures may be somewhat unfavorable for early reproductive crops in the central crop belt, especially in Cordoba, La Pampa and west Buenos Aires. Showers and cooler weather later this week will be less stressful for crops.
