Commodities Market Impact Weather
Southern Brazil Showers
OMAHA (DTN) -- Rain beginning in southern Brazil, and continued favorable conditions in Argentina, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.
WET MIDWEST CONDITIONS
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for muddy conditions to continue hindering final corn and soybean harvest efforts in parts of the western Midwest. The eastern Midwest will also have continued disruption due to a chilly mix of rain and wet snow. The pattern turns drier through the coming weekend; however, a new storm system with rain, freezing precipitation, and snow is in store over the seven-day time frame.
FAVORABLE SOUTHERN PLAINS TREND

In the Southern Plains, conditions are favorable for winter wheat with above- to much-above-normal temperatures allowing for additional pre winter growth, along with late germination. Some significant precipitation is expected next week, maintaining very favorable soil moisture levels.
MIXED NORTHERN BRAZIL FORECAST
In northern Brazil, crop conditions remain generally favorable. Reports suggest that Mato Grosso soybeans may be two percent harvested by the end of December, and up to 20% harvest by the end of January. The region has mixed rainfall forecasts over the next week. Northeast areas will continue with drier conditions. Rainfall may cause some harvest delay in Mato Grosso.
RAIN BEGINS IN SOUTHERN BRAZIL
In southern Brazil, rainfall has begun in dry areas of Parana; however, rainfall remains scattered, with more general coverage needed. The forecast continues to expand the rain coverage through the next five days. Farther south, Rio Grande do Sul is in line for moderate to heavy rainfall, maintaining ample soil moisture for crops.
DRIER ARGENTINA TREND
In central Argentina, periodic rainfall and variable temperatures continue in the forecast; this is favorable for developing corn, soybeans and sunflower.
