OMAHA (DTN) -- A variable impact from cold and unsettled trends in the Midwest, and more beneficial rainfall in Brazil, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Monday.

MIXED MIDWEST CONDITIONS

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for a cold and dry trend to favor the remaining harvest in the western Midwest. Cold and unsettled conditions will disrupt and delay the remaining harvest in the eastern Midwest.

COLD BENEFITS NORTHERN PLAINS HARVEST

The Northern Plains harvest has a favorable pattern due to cold conditions firming soils in wetter areas to allow progress.

SNOW AND COLD IN SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Southern Plains, cold conditions will slow winter wheat development.

BENEFICIAL BRAZIL TREND

Brazil crop areas continue with favorable weather for developing soybeans in central areas. Drier weather in southern Brazil favors planting. Soil moisture supplies are favorable for development.

HEAVY ARGENTINA RAIN

In central Argentina, heavy rains in central areas will disrupt and delay corn and soybean planting and may force some replanting. Soil moisture supplies for developing crops are adequate to surplus.

FAVORABLE EUROPE RAIN

Winter crop prospects have greatly improved over much of northern Europe following beneficial rain over the past two weeks.

MILD BLACK SEA WEATHER

Russia and Ukraine have a mild weather trend, which is favorable for development of winter grains.

VARIABLE SOUTH AFRICA TRENDS

In South Africa, mostly favorable soil moisture is noted for planting and developing maize over eastern areas. More rain would benefit conditions in western areas although planting usually occurs later in the season and no delays are expected from the current dryness.
