OMAHA (DTN) -- A turn toward a drier, warmer trend coming up for the central U.S., and challenging weather conditions in Europe and other countries affecting the corn and wheat crops, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

DRIER, WARMER AHEAD IN MIDWEST OUTLOOK

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for favorable conditions for late-pollinating and filling corn and developing and filling soybeans with moderate temperatures and adequate moisture conditions at this time. However, the jet stream forecast models today for the six- to 10-day forecast show above- to much-above-normal temperatures and below-normal rainfall for much of the central U.S., which will deplete soil moisture for developing corn and soybeans. While this is late enough that it shouldn't affect corn pollination, it could affect filling soybeans.

SHOWERS EASED STRESS IN CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Central and Southern Plains, recent moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms and more moderate temperatures ease stress to corn and soybeans.

DRY TREND FOR WEST TEXAS

Little significant rainfall is expected in the major growing areas of west Texas during the next seven days. Episodes of hot weather will further stress the crop.

FAVORABLE NORTHERN PLAINS CONDITIONS

The Northern Plains expects to see favorable conditions for developing corn and soybeans with adequate soil moisture and moderate temperatures. There will be favorable weather for maturing and harvesting spring wheat.

LIMITED RAIN FOR CANADIAN PRAIRIES

Limited rainfall and episodes of hot weather in the Canadian Prairies stresses filling wheat and canola in some southern areas.

LITTLE RAIN IN EUROPE

In Europe, little rainfall along with episodes of hot weather are affecting the wheat and corn crops.

VARIABLE CONDITIONS IN NORTH CHINA

In northeastern China, more rain would benefit the main corn areas in the south. There are more favorable conditions in the main soybean areas in the north.

SOME BENEFICIAL WEEKEND SHOWERS IN CENTRAL CHINA

In central China, there were some beneficial showers and thunderstorms during the weekend. Temperatures remain high. Some stress to crops have been reported.

DRIER OUTLOOK FOR WEST-CENTRAL INDIA

Monsoon rains are now mostly in the north in India. The main oilseed areas of west-central India have adequate soil moisture at this time, but will be on the drier side during the next seven to 10 days.
