OMAHA (DTN) -- A higher chance for showers in Argentina and continued beneficial conditions across Brazil are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.

IMPROVED ARGENTINA RAIN CHANCE

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for a higher chance for rainfall in central Argentina during the next five days. Showers begin in the south and work northward with light to locally moderate amounts. Rain, if it verifies, will benefit crops, notably soybeans.

BENEFICIAL BRAZIL MOISTURE

Across Brazil, there are no significant concerns for maturing and harvesting of soybeans and first-crop corn in southern Brazil at this time. The harvest of soybeans in northern areas may slow with a few thunderstorms in the area at times. Soil moisture in key second-crop corn (safrinha) areas should be adequate to in some cases surplus.

ISOLATED SHOWERS FOR SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Southern Plains, there are no significant rainfall chances for west and central areas during the next seven days. Rain will be needed as winter wheat development increases during the coming weeks to prevent significant stress to wheat and potential yield declines. The chance for some precipitation increases at the end of the period, but is still considered a low chance for anything meaningful.

DRY AND COLD IN NORTHERN PLAINS

The Northern Plains will be drier over the next week. Temperatures remain cold through the weekend. The drier pattern is favorable to transportation. A more moderate temperature trend will ease stress to livestock.
