COLORADO, Kit Carson County. In an online auction, a 240-acre farm with Class II soils sold for $432,000, or $1,800 per acre, in one tract. It was located southeast of Stratton. Contact: Virgil George, Rocking X Land Co.; vg@rxl.land; 719-346-5420; www.rockingxland.com.

ILLINOIS, McLean County. Known locally as the Hohenstein Farm, around 240 acres of cropland sold in two tracts in a sealed-bid auction for an average price of $13,600 per acre. Total price for the property was estimated at $3.26 million. The land had a history of corn and soybean production, with average yields on corn at 229 bushels per acre (bpa) and average yields on soybeans at 72 bpa. INDIANA, White County. Tillable farm with 103 acres sold for $611,000, or $5,932 per acre. The land was predominantly fine sandy loam soils with a weighted production index of 129. KENTUCKY, Lincoln County. Gently rolling Bluegrass cattle farm, 157 total acres, sold for $555,500 in two tracts. Average price per acre was $3,538. The property included two houses, a tobacco barn, stock barn, shop and corn crib. McLean County. Five tracts totaling 376 acres sold at auction for $2.4 million, or $6,387 per acre. The top per-acre price came on a 99-acre creek bottom tract with 90 acres of tillable land, a machinery shed and grain bins, at $7,400 per acre. Buyers were all regional investors and are farmers. MISSISSIPPI, Panola County. A 630-acre farm with 561 cropland acres sold for $2.75 million, or $4,365 per acre. The land was irrigated with two-thirds precision-leveled. MISSOURI, Knox and Mason Counties. A large property totaling about 1,471 acres sold at auction for $7.56 million, or $5,139 per acre. The farm included multiple homes and sold online with 70 registered bidders from 12 states. By the end of the auction, more than 300 bids were placed. The land sold in eight tracts and was purchased by five buyers. The property was mostly tillable farmland with the balance in recreational timber. OHIO, Seneca County. One 78-acre parcel sold by sealed bid for $663,000, or an average per-acre price of $8,500. The land is described as highly productive sandy loam, with recent crop rotation that included corn, soybeans and tomatoes. The property sold to a neighboring farmer.
