OMAHA (DTN) -- Continued La Nina related issues in South America and a variable forecast in the southern U.S. Plains are the primary weather features for the commodity market's attention Tuesday.

LIGHT MIDWEST MOISTURE FORECAST

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for dry and warmer Midwest conditions during the balance of the week. A storm system crosses the region during the coming weekend, featuring mainly light snow. Drought in western areas shows little easing through the end of the month.

VARIABLE SOUTHERN PLAINS MOISTURE

In the Southern Plains, much of the week will be fairly dry. Precipitation is indicated to cross the region this weekend with moderate amounts in southern areas and mostly light amounts north. Drought continues across the north and west.

NORTHERN PLAINS CLIPPER SYSTEMS

The Northern Plains have mainly warmer weather in store through the next seven days. Some fast-moving storm systems will clip the region, but heavy snow is not indicated. Some colder air is possible in the six- to 10-day time frame but does not show the intensity of recent cold waves.

WET FOR CENTRAL BRAZIL

Across Brazil, moderate to heavy rain continues in the forecast for central crop areas. This wet pattern brings further delays to soybean harvest and safrinha (second-crop) corn planting. Southern Brazil will be drier. This pattern is consistent with La Nina presence in the Pacific Ocean.

HOT AND DRY ARGENTINA FORECAST

In central Argentina, heat and dryness remain as forecast features during the next week. This is unfavorable for filling row crops. This drier and hotter trend is an identified effect of La Nina in the Pacific Ocean.
